With nearly thirty-two thousand books, the MEP library has one of the most beautiful collections of photography books in the world. After”A Collection” published in 2015, here is”A Library” co-published by MEP/Actes Sud. To present the book, Irene Attinger, head of the library of the MEP, selected 10 books published between 1956 and 2015.

As a preliminary remark, I insist on the fact that my selection is not a hierarchy but a journey through time and space, from 1956 with the release of William Klein’s book”New York” followed by”The Americans” by Robert Franck to”Bernard Plossu’s Italian Journey in 2015. And it is in this same spirit that I selected these ten books while trying to propose some discoveries. Irene Attinger
