Marie Cozette takes over the management of CRAC Occitanie / Pyrénées-Méditerranée in Sète
Carole Delga, President of the Occitanie / Pyrénées-Méditerranée Region, announces the appointment of Marie Cozette to head the Centre Régional d’Art Contemporain. She succeeds Noëlle Tissier, founder and director of the art centre since April 1997.
Aged 41, Marie Cozette was formerly the director of the Centre for Contemporary Art –the synagogue of Delmein Moselle, since 2007.
In this capacity, she has curated numerous personal exhibitions offrench and international artists, emerging or recognized(Jean-Luc Moulène, Hippolyte Hentgen, Shilpa Gupta, Susan Hiller, Marie Cool Fabio Balducci, Eric Baudelaire, Edith Dekyndt, Yona Friedman, Julien Prévieux, Katinka Bock…) and welcomed in residence many artists (Anne-Charlotte Finel, Violaine Lochu, Julien Creuzet, Eva Taulois, Dominique Ghesquière…) while developing European co-productions with Brussels, Karlsruhe, San Sebastian, Milan, London, etc.
A graduate of the École du Louvre, Marie Cozette isart historianof training. From 2003 to 2005, she co-founded and co-directed two independent exhibition spaces in Paris, dedicated to the emerging art scene:The Storeand thenConcrete paving stones. In 2005 and 2006, she was artistic director of the box, gallery of the Ecole nationale supérieure d’art de Bourges around a program and a publication entitled”Les formes du délai”, signed with Julie Pellegrin and Keren Detton.
She taught at the Lorraine College of Art – Metz general culture and exhibition history in 2014 and 2015. She has participated in numerous juries (art school diplomas, Venice Biennale…) and was a member of the Frac Champagne Ardenne acquisition committee in 2015 and 2016.
Since 2007, she has been a regular speaker at conferences in various contexts in France: Journées professionnelles dans les écoles d’art, Fondation Ricard, FIAC, Centre Pompidou, Printemps de Septembre; and abroad: ARCO Madrid, Western Front Vancouver, Toronto University, Institute of Contemporary Art de Winnipeg, China Central Academy of Fine Arts – Beijing, Université des arts – Xi’An, etc;
Marie Cozette will take up her duties at the Centre Régional d’Art Contemporain Occitanie / Pyrénées-Méditerranée in Sète, on1eraugust 2018.
