Carte Blanche to Agnès Guillaume

Agnès Guillaume, video and plastic artist is our guest of the week. She currently presents”Adam and Eve” a video installation in the collective exhibition”V.I.E” at the W gallery. For her second Carte Blanche, she introduces us to Michael Borremans’ artistic approach.

“In his work – painting, video, drawing – people always seem stopped in a pause on image, or rather a pause on thought, almost surprised that one can look at them. They are there, enigmatic, well of today and nourished by an age-old humanity

I love the absolute freedom of his work, his uninterrupted dialogue with art history, the simplicity with which he admitted a few years ago that he wasn’t painting very well and that he needed to progress.”
