Drawing Now 2018, a hands down review!
New and discovery, an edition that is unanimous: exhibitors and visitors agree on the fact that this 12th edition is the best to date! 10% more collectors present and a strong mobilization of visiting groups.
This 2018 edition counts +10% of buyers (collectors, art center and professionals) and +10% of curious amateurs,
nearly 20 000 visitors this year, in spite of the strikes. French and international institutions at the meeting, collectors and personalities of the art world were also numerous, more and more American collectors and their institutions were also identified, groups of French, Swiss and Russian collectors, groups of friends and patrons.
The Master Now course has generated a real success and a satisfactory number of transactions:-
Galerie Martel has made great sales with a work by Art Spiegelman sold for 45 000€ and one by Tomi Ungerer for 25 000€- Galerie Jean Fournier sold a Pierre Buraglio for 17 000€- Galerie Georges-Philippe and Nathalie Vallois sold more than thirty drawings by the Iranian artist Peybak for a price range from 900 to 13 000€.
-Galerie Papillon sold several works for prices going up to 9 500€- Maus Contemporary sold his Master Now, a work by Barbara & Michael Leisgen for 26 000€- the private gallery, Galerie Biousse-Foucher sold among others a work by Ethan Murrow for 18 000€ and one by Mathieu Dufois for 12 000€.
-among its numerous sales, the christian berst art brut gallery sold 5 drawings (17 000€ each) by the Croatian artist Janko Domsic, presented in focus on its stand.
The Prize :
The DRAWING NOW 2018 Prize was awarded to the artist Michail Michailov, presented on the stand of the ProjektraumViktor
Bucher Gallery (Process Sector), in the presence of the members of the selection committee.
