#DENVER If you are ever in Colorado, plan a detour to Denver to discover “Dior : From Paris to the world”, Dior’s first retrospective in the United States

The Denver Art Museum (DAM) presents this exhibition, which traces 70 years of the prestigious company’s history. From its founder, Christian Dior, to the various more or less charismatic artistic directors, the Maison de couture has always known how to analyse and decipher trends to highlight its creative process over the decades. The Denver Museum presents some 200 haute couture dresses, accessories, photographs, original sketches and fashion show videos. A quite exceptional corpus that highlights the way in which Christian Dior managed to bring about a real revolution in the world of fashion after the Second World War in Paris with the emblematic style ‘New Look’. The scenography, a spectacular passage through time, is also an opportunity to understand its strategy to consolidate the reputation of its Haute Couture house and allow it to establish itself on the five continents

Thus, we travel to the heart of The Workshop, the real lung of the House. A nerve centre, where seamstresses and little hands work and work under the guidance of creative directors. The exhibition takes us into a world of silky fabrics and lace, where we perceive sewing as an art of sublimating women. It is therefore an impressive dive into the secret world of the Dior workshop technique: sketches, canvases, dress designs, embroideries and complex processes

The decisive loans of the Dior Heritage Collection give visitors a broad overview of the pieces and creations, many of which have rarely been seen outside Europe.
