#CHATEAUVERT To think of nature is to engage in a vagrancy, a reverie in which we glean harvest elements, fragments of landscape, associations of ideas in collision with the gaze. And nature then takes care of everything that is foreign to it to such an extent that considering it is already positioning itself “against nature”

Organized by Evelyne Artaud, the exhibition of the Centre d’Art Contemporain de Châteauvert depicts this gap between nature and the one who takes it. And more precisely when it comes to the artist whose role is precisely to translate this wandering into forms and fiction. Or in disinheritance when these stories that the walker tells himself crumble, come up against the reality of a nature that is dying but to which artists can breathe bits of hope when they teach us another possible relationship to the world

Eleven of them, through different practices – painting, sculpture, video, drawing, photography, installation – offer us a vast plastic orchestration rich in cries and silences, where love interferes with violence when, for example, Franta paints a nature taken out of her hinges, with her dogs released and screaming. But love is present, it is even the only real link that connects us to the world and the work of Didier Gianella and Emmanuelle de Rosa reminds us of it through a distributor of love letters for 2€. Michel Houssin’s superb drawings highlight the processes of confusion that take place between man and the elements of a landscape, in a puzzle game or erasure. All this is stretched to the extreme; nature remains sovereign, screaming with vitality, overflowing with sap and each artist tells us what she whispered to him. Something that has been formulated in materials, colours and light and whose only remaining word for hope is called beauty

Works by Franta, Jean Jacques Cary, Marc Alberghina, Paolo Bosi, Gilles Miquélis, Emmanuelle de Rosa and Didier Gianella, Michel Houssin, Muriel Toulemonde, Jean- Paul Maniouloux, Luc Boniface
