Prehistory, a modern enigma

#PARIS The idea of “prehistory” opens the imagination to the origins of the Earth. Artists have played a major role in shaping its great breakthrough in the perception of the world and humanity. They probed it and created a protean dialogue between eras. The works of art in which the prehistoric imagination resonates, in addition to the imitations and projections it generates, question the idea of linear evolution and upset any philosophical, historical and artistic classification. Today, at a major anthropological turning point, the research of our origins serves as a guide for addressing the question of the future of humanity. Apocalypse, utopia or revolution?
