Chicago Art Brut at Halle Saint Pierre

#PARIS Chicago is undoubtedly one of the great American metropolises to have demonstrated a real and total artistic independence. While New York, in the 1940s, turned to abstract expressionism, Chicago artists were already interested in surrealism, German expressionism, primitive art, raw art. Jean Dubuffet will give his famous conference “Anticultural Positions”. With “Chicago, foyer d’Art Brut”, Halle Saint-Pierre, in partnership with INTUIT, the Chicago museum dedicated to outsider art, offers a showcase of artists who have brought Chicago’s artistic uniqueness to the fore.
