Almost Human by Thomas Houseago, MAM Paris
#LASTDAYS Thomas Houseago creates monumental pieces that transmit both power and vulnerability. They start from matter, from the frank and voluntary gesture, incarnate gesture, gesture that expresses the desire to give shape to objects, to characters, to propose an aesthetic universe that is not without reminding the problems of the avant-garde: fragmented forms of cubists, angular cut, structured in jerky movements that gives a dynamic, sometimes raw, reading of the human or animal figure, so little represented today in contemporary sculpture.
