#PARIS Between sensuality borrowed from a deaf violence and disturbing languor, Sally Mann depicts an America, a matrix land, which still heals the wounds of the Civil War and offers itself as a refuge to the eye. The Jeu de Paume Museum offers the American artist his first major retrospective in France. 40 years of wandering in a burning South, a corpus of images as austere and sorry, as well as sulphurous and clammy, bathed in a radical light so dear to Sally Mann.
