Virgil Abloh icon of fashion and…contemporary art!
#CHICAGO A true agitator of the small smooth world of international fashion, Virgil Abloh creates a real aesthetic disruption by crushing two worlds that nothing links together. When he launched his Off-White brand, he introduced streetwear aesthetics into the heart of European fashion by creating his collections in Milan but exhibiting them in Paris. His first collections, which put him in orbit, included grandiloquent frescoes of Caravaggio on hooded sweaters that can be seen on every street corner in New York. From the beginning, he imposed Off-White as a luxury brand and it was this carefully calibrated disruption that destabilized the chain of a well-oiled system, between the perception of formal clothing and streetwear fashion, a claim that he was still refining, season after season.
