In northern China, a vast post-industrial and yet empty city, plunged into a perpetual fog that seems to trap its inhabitants. One morning, a simple altercation between two teenagers in a high school degenerates and will unite the destinies of four individuals shattered by family selfishness and social violence. A common obsession unites them: fleeing to the city of Manzhouli. It is said that a circus elephant sits there all day long, motionless.
