Born in 1982 in Tours. Work in Paris. Théophile Pillault is a journalist and author. His articles are published by Vice, Mouvement, Trax Magazine or Inrockuptibles. Director of work, he initiated for the painter Toma-l the editing project Vas-y (published in 2011, awarded in 2013 at the Fedrigoni Top Awards). In 2014, he signed The Chronicles (Griffin / Pyramyd Publishing, Gingko Press), the first monograph dedicated to the painter JonOne. He takes part in the #FREEBASSEL campaign, in tribute to Bassel Khartabil, a Syrian pioneer of the free Internet, imprisoned by the Assad regime. He co-edited The Cost of Freedom in 2015 (Fabricatorz, #newpalmyra, BooksPrints). Sponsored by the French Institute of Tunisia, it presents in Tunis the project “Resolution [s]”, realized in 2016 in partnership with the National Center of Ceramic Art – Sidi Kacem Jelizi. He writes regularly for the space of Art Montresso, installed in Marrakech. In 2018, Théophile co-wrote the documentary film UXÅ, a musical dive at the heart of the Swedish Hardcore scene. This year he publishes the second book dedicated to the work of artist JonOne (Ed Skira).
